1.Gin

Our Journey towards embracing the flavors that the PNW has to offer. Check out Jenn’s blog for the story behind Fortunate Feast & her table top settings that will soon be adorning our blog pages as well.

Seth’s Blood Orange 75

1 1/2 oz Gin (we used our favorite local Gin by Captive Spirits)
1 oz blood orange simple syrup
1 1/2 oz blood orange juice
4 oz Chilled Prosecco (You have to try Joe’s Secco)
1 slice blood orange
Simple Syrup -
1 cup sugar + 1 cup water, in a small sauce pan bring mixture to slight simmer to dissolve sugar. Once sugar dissolves, remove pan from heat and place 6 slices of blood orange in to the mixture and let steep for 30 min. Fish out the orange slices and pour simple syrup into a squeeze bottle and store for up to 1 week.
In a shaker half-filled with ice-cubes, combine the gin, simple syrup and blood orange juice. Shake well and pour into your glass of choice, top with Prosecco and garnish with orange slice.

This is one of my favorite moments on a wedding day, when the bride is standing with her father & looks down the isle at her soon to be husband. It is so special and it is one of the few moments I vividly remember from my wedding. On this particular day the light was just right and this was a beautiful accident.

I love those….

This stunning wedding is coming to blog soon

Twins at 6 months. Love this family.

March 7, 2012

I have had the absolute pleasure of photographing this family over the past year, from maternity, birth to 6 months old. Now miss Malia turned one and I was able to capture them again and it was another beautiful day at their Green Lake home.

This session was one of my favorite belly sessions, with one of my favorite people and at my favorite place in Seattle. Session took place at Discovery Park, I love Discovery because it is just a quick 10 min drive from the city and it feels like you are in the middle of no-where. This obviously took place several months ago when it was not quite so frigid here and the sunlight was perfect. Juliet and Justin have since welcomed miss Josefina into the world and she if perfect. That session coming to the blog soon. Until then enjoy the countdown to miss Josefina…

These are a few of my favorite things………

Those of you who know me know that I love pregnant belies and fresh babies, and when I get to photograph each step along the way it just really is one of my favorite things! Mary contacted me in the early months of her pregnancy to set up a maternity shoot and it worked out that I got to be there for miss Malia’s birth and we again reunited for a 6-month session. I am a Labor and Delivery RN and I get to be there for many births, this one however, was the first one that I had the opportunity to photograph and I have to admit it was beautiful and I got a little tear for this one.

The maternity and 6 month session took place at Green Lake and we were blessed with no rain & sunshine on both occasions!

Such a beautiful and fun family!

~ thank you Mike, Mary and Malia for such a beautiful experience

Recently I have been more aware that life can present its sets of challenges and pains, I personally have family members that are close to me that are struggling with sickness, young and old.  Life’s hard realities are ever present.

That being said, sometimes I am overwhelmed with the love I see in others. This couple is no exception. The number one thing I love about being a photographer is that I get a front row seat in people’s expression of affection and love for each other.  I get a glimpse into how they look at one another and it is in these moments I am reminded that life is beautiful. Okay, I will stop there in an effort to not sound to sappy.

It is no secret I love baby bumps and today I am sharing a family that is expecting 2 babies which equals double the excitement.  Enjoy, and I hope you feel the love

I am procrastinating packing for my trip to Mexico  (which I have to get up at 4am for) to do one more post. I am doing this because I am so stinkin proud of her!!!
OK. Let me being by saying that this girl is uber talented and I am proud to say that she is my niece. Maddie lives in SoCal so on my last trip home I had the absolute pleasure of photographing her. She is what any photographer would call a DREAM to photograph.

When I first met my husband 13 years ago Maddie came into my life,  she was just a sweet little 4 year old girl and I have had the opportunity to see her grow up and blossom into a stunning young woman who is beautiful inside and out.

Currently Maddie is blowing up into a track star at Valencia High School in Valencia CA. Watch out world you are going to see more of this girl!!! In our shoot we wanted to play with her passion for running and her enthusiasm for fashion. Her mom; who just happens to be my sister in law, Gwen styled the shoot and came up with some fun and creative concepts to showcase Maddie for who she truly is… A shining Star.!!!
