I just returned from a trip down to California, I came back feeling so inspired and encouraged. My trip consisted of some much needed family time as well as a workshop I attended given by Wildflowers Photography. If you have not checked out this artist, please do www.wildflowersphotography.com. Joy’s work is stunning and so creative; she captures simple moments in time and makes them into beautiful works of art. I picked Wildflowers Photography because I love her work and hope I can convey similar emotions with my photography. I not only learned so much but also was so touched by Joy’s passion and how real she was. I had the opportunity to meet some other really amazing photographers that are on my same journey. I will be posting more images from the workshop soon so stay tuned.
But one thing that just made my heart smile was when I visited some family in Temecula. This is Aaron, my cousin. Aaron is holding a picture of himself that I took in my very first Black & White photo class oh so many years ago. I took this class right out of high school and fell in love with photography. My life has taken many turns since that class and I only recently have re-discovered photography in the last 4 years. But it was so fun to see this image up on a wall. My first child portrait….. I just wanted to share
When I first met my husband 13 years ago Maddie came into my life, she was just a sweet little 4 year old girl and I have had the opportunity to see her grow up and blossom into a stunning young woman who is beautiful inside and out.
What is a “trash the dress session”? Don’t worry brides, it’s not throwing your dress in the mud and letting a truck run over it! It is a celebration of the moment, it’s a time to get back into your wedding attire and have a romantic moment that is real and raw.
This couple happens to be celebrating 2 years of marriage and they still have that sparkle. We had the opportunity to have this shoot on the 1ST Seattle sunny day of 2011.
When the sun came out in the morning Seth conceptualized our day with Ben and Jess. With their personalities we wanted to capture the light coming through a huge window of an old building. Seth chose Union Station in Pioneer Square and we were fortunate enough to have a few moments of solitude within the building. The moments we were able to capture were quite and calm. Here are a few images from the first half of our day. Stay tuned for the second half of our day as Seth’s vision continues on a sunny day in Seattle with this gorgeous couple.
-Thank you Ben and Jess
We love and adore you both!
Making the best of another soggy, Seattle day. Oh Seattle how I love you….
We recently had the absolute pleasure of photographing this beautiful family. One of the things that Seth and I keep getting reminded of in this business is that we are blessed by each encounter with families and couples.
Photography gives us the opportunity to spend time with people we might not normally get to and in each of these encounters we see love in a unique and special way. This family was no exception. Life is so joyful when you welcome a little girl into to the world and here we are welcoming baby Lua.
So its December; 2010 is almost over. I have not posted in a few months and just wanted to give a little update. I started off 2010 with a new years resolution which I did not stick to I am afraid. I set out to post and take one picture per day for 365 days. I had no idea where that little resolution would take me. I really just wanted to explore my creative side, work on my camera skills and just take pictures. Seth, my husband and business partner really poured our hearts in to our photography business and here we are. I have not posted anything in months. The reason being is we have been shooting weddings, families, babies and just about anything else that will let us take pictures. We have been so busy I have not had a chance to keep the blog up to date. We have so much to share so I will commit bloging more often. But I just wanted to give a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been involved over the last year. Seth and I are so excited for 2011 and all the new adventures to come. Here is just a little taste of what we have been up to. Meet Jett, he was born to Shiloh and George in October. They are some very special friends who we got to spend time with on a recent visit down to California. Here is their beautiful little bundle of joy.
